hi - thanks indeed for your festive greetings and good wishes

Murano no really my area, though we do have other members of the GMB who have much knowledge of glass from the Gulf of Venice - so fingers crossed someone will be able to help.
You may well be correct about the origin of these pieces, but for those of us who may not recognize these as being 99% Italian Murano - what makes you so sure of their provenance - is there a label or some other indication of their origin? Murano glass is so often colourful, and it's unusual to see this shade of what appears as 'brown' - though I suspect it's more attractive in the flesh.
Flat bases occur on much glass from the Continent, and on its own isn't a reliable guide to the attribution of a piece of glass.
I could be wrong, but it does look as though you have more than one piece of glass - is that correct - and these pieces appear to be cased in clear glass
