Paul, the label is from VSL but not normally not used on decorative glass but bricks. Valart is not a brand but it is a range or series of bricks with different patterns, produced by VSL.

It's been put on to fool people and sell better  (I fell for it too) by somebody who had theses labels and our vases, i can't think of any other reason.

You can email VSL but I would be surprized if you'd get a reply due to the language barrier.

It's true, it doesn't look like anything from the Eldorado series, but as Herman had done some individual, unique pieces, I had hoped it could be one of them.

If you don't get a reply from VSL, I'll ask next time I'm over there.

Nice of mr Herman to reply so quickly.

Hi Anne..

So to clarify..(and sorry to labour the point!) but if I understand you correctly although the label is by made by Val St Lambert the actual glass is probably not ... meaning that the engraving is false..

If so , I can live with that..fortunately, I didnt pay much and I bought it because I liked it. :)

Paul

I don't know really,  I have seen this signature once or twice before but I can't say much about it or even the series.

Even though this signature is not typical, I can't see why somebody would add a fake signature to this type of glass ( and I can hear you think why bother adding the label then) but the VSL pieces in this style usually don't go for much. Even the Herman pieces for VSL are going through a low moment here in Belgium as we speak, which I think is a pitty, as there's a whole theory and philosophy behind each design.

If it's ok with you, I'll use your images when im at VSL but it might take a little while....sorry.
