Topic: Help identifying glass bowls - possibly Waterford

Hi - I am trying to identify these glass bowls. I am told they are Waterford Crystal and possibly first quarter of 20th century but haven't been able to track down the pattern. I appreciate all help. Thanks

Hi  -  might he a bit difficult for the period you mention  ........  the original Waterford factory operated from 1729 to 1851, after which they ceased and were resurrected only in 1951 and continue to the present time.      I know that most of the modern glass is acid badged with one of several marks  .........  'Waterford' (in Gothic face) -  'Made in Republic of Ireland'  -  and sometimes a seahorse logo plus 'Waterford Crystal'.
 We've always had problems with dating older Waterford material  -  something to do with lack of access to earlier factory pattern books  -  forget where they are now.
Nice bowl by the way  -  like the notches/cuts on those vertical mitres - if only we knew, this feature might be an indication of origin - unfortunately, many manufacturers used such a cut in their designs.

Would be interested to know on what basis your informant was able to suggest first quarter of C20.             Assuming you get a nil response here, would suggest you send a picture to the factory and see if they are able to help.

There are no marks. Bowls are 5 inches in diameter.

Looks a bit like a finger bowl, not sure when they went out of fashion?, a popular pattern and made for a very long time.

One of my favourites, here are four i have to hand, the first is Royal Doulton silver wedding, the second is either Bridge crystal or Kinver crystal as they used the same or very similar blanks, the third i think could be American and the fourth about 1860-80 in date.

As to yours it could be tricky finding a maker, it's just by chance i found the Royal Doulton pattern looking for something else.
