Topic: Pair of large retro Wedgwood vases

Bought these this morning and am now wondering if anyone can help with any info on them as I've never come across this type of Wedgwood before. They both have their original labels and stand 9.5 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter and have an orange peel texture with craters. Very tactile bit any info on designer or date appreciated.

Congratulations, they are lovely. The design is called "Moon crater" and they were designed by Ronald Stennett-Willson in 1969 to commemorate the moon landing.

Thanks Angela just from the feel and look of them I thought they had to be quite good they are very tactile pieces and I love them.

I've now been contacted by someone and offered what I think is a silly amount of money for these, but I just don't know what the value is. Any ideas before I make a boob on this.

I do think they are quite rare, Paul. To be honest, if Angela hadn't been able to id, I would have wondered whether the labels had been original. Wedgwood acquired Kings Lynn glass from RSW in 1969, so not only would these be some of the earliest pieces, but given that it was quite a small operation in those days, there may not have been that many. But I'm guessing there.

Value...it's the old "how long is a piece of string" question. But my gut feeling is they should be up there with the Clarice Cliffs. But it's only a gut feeling....

Thanks Adam, I'm going to tell they guy that they're not for sale at the present time and sit on them for the time being as I really like them and didn't actually buy them to sell.
I find thyat my glass tastes are now signicantly changing and I'm going to thin out my Venini collection to fund some more new purchases.

This is all I can find so far. Lot no.300. It only gives an estimate and for 1 vase. It does not say how much it sold for.  Not very up-to-date as it is from 2005.

Just to prove even I can learn, since I had the original pair of these I've seen others in both blue and amber, but today found one in flint which I've never even come across any reference to so bought it as its pristine and it's Crete bound with me next weekend.
Anyone know just what the extent of the colour range of this pattern was just out of curiosity.
