Need help identifying hobnail patterned compote/comport
« on: November 23, 2018, 01:02:39 PM »
I found this hobnail patterned compote in a thrift shop here in Australia and can't seem to identify it. I've checked through the EAPG Society pattern database and on their Facebook group and this doesn't appear to be American in origin.

It bears a lot of similarity to some George Davidson 1885 Hobnail Suite designs, and I know that Davidson imported glassware to Australia, but I haven't found an exact match anywhere to confirm this.

Does anyone know where this originates? It's 8" in height, 8.5" wide and has a strong manganese glow under UV light, and the pattern is very defined - as though it was made from a fresh mould rather than an older one.

Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated!
