Square based flame vase help please.
« on: March 06, 2018, 07:13:01 PM »
Been looking and can not find it, looks well made and finished, it measures 6 1/2 inches in height with a rim diameter of 2 1/2 inches.

Any thought's welcome regards Chris.

The shape is reminiscent of several Pentti Sarpaneva/Oy Kumela designs, might be worth exploring.

Thanks for your help Greg looks like i have found the 24k gold version. https://www.ebay.com/itm/EINO-WANNI-for-Kumela-Finland-Glass-Vase-with-24k-Gold-Plated-Metal-Decoration-/352199150797?hash=item5200b48ccd

Not moulded on all four sides though, base matches many of the designs by them i have had a look at.

You're welcome.

He was also a jewellery designer, you can clearly see this influence in many of his designs.

Chris, your link in Reply #2 has no images in the listing. Did you post the correct link?

Hi Chris, Just having a look at your link and the one below this may well be a design by Eino Wänni for Oy Kumela rather than a Sarpaneva one. Some of their designs are quite similar.....

I'd agree Eino Wanni rather than Pentti Sarpaneva.  This is the similar Sarpaneva design, but signed on the base Pentti Sarpaneva and Oy Kumela.
Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd
