Unusual large wavy Whitefriars style textured vase -??
« on: March 21, 2018, 11:38:14 PM »
Hi

I really hope I get some replies on this one as it's driving me mad!  :)

It's so distinctive that I felt sure I'd find another example, but nothing so far..

It's big -12 inches high and weighing 1.8 kg. It 's cased glass with a bark texture that also has ribs (or ridges) at points in the glass. It has a wavy shape when viewed at its widest. I'd describe the colour as gold or amber. Slight birdbath (though not deep) to the base with a polished concave pontil.
One curious feature is parts seem to have small specks of paint -they come off easily, but I've been scared to remove them in case they are part of the design!
So any ideas..? I've been looking at Ingrid and Oberglas.. but nothing so far? Japanese maybe..it seems more ambitious than what I've seen from there...help!
I can take more photos if that will help.
