Victorian Purple Malachite Pedestal Sugars
« on: July 13, 2018, 02:06:08 PM »
I have a magnificent pair of these purple Malachite sugars which are unmarked. 5 inches tall, I think they are Davidson from the pattern. Can anyone confirm their identity? There’s a similar couple on the 1st glass 1st things website.
Kind regards Mike

No direct match in the Davidson catalogues of unregistered designs 1880-1890, but that knop in the stem is certainly reminiscent of those from Davidson's pattern numbers 117, 119 and 120 pedestal sugars.
