Old English concentric footed paperweight
« on: June 01, 2018, 05:53:34 PM »
Hello.
I purchased this weight in a group of rubbish just to have a look at it.
Thoughts are it’s an old English weight concentric weight from Richardson’s or similar.
Footed with good wear to the base with snapped pontil slightly inverted.
Measures 3.5”ish...D..
Am I way off?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Fatbelly,

I think it is a Richardson paperweight. Footed, measures, cane colours...

Best regards.
Marc.

Hi Marc.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts.I have since read an article on a paperweight website that has almost identical weights to this all attributed to Richardson’s but unsure of date.
My hunch was correct I’m sure, and you agree as did the article author who I belive is a contributor on here too so all is good.
Thanks again for your input.

Hi.  I agree it looks like a Richardson.  I am sorry to say we are still no further forward in determining the dates with any accuracy!
