Topic: Ephemera - 1839 Molineaux Webb Ellis receipt

So here is a rare thing, bought off eBay. This is a 1839 receipt from Molineaux Webb Ellis to a glass merchant in Macclesfield. Although I can't make out the whole inscription, the main items are a number of tall taper gadroon tumblers, and a single cut decanter, bottle and pickle jar. And then another load of tall taper gadroon (something or other)

It's unusual to see this sort of ephemera pre 1850 for any business, let alone glass manufacturers. Does anyone know if others have come to light in British Victorian glass?

Just in case this helps, I deciphered a little of it like this (plenty wrong/missing but might fill in some bits for you maybe)

12 of the (or 12 doz & 6?)  Tali/tub/Sali?? taper Gadroon tumblers
1 Cut Decanter stopper
1 cut pickle jar 
1 cut bottle   
Cutting off decanter
12 of the (or 12 doz & 4?) Tali/tub/Sali?? taper Gadroon (twists ?)
               Paid for (?carriage?)  ?
By the (auditor?)  ?   
               Invoice Returned
               Discount

Thanks for the effort, you've filled in a few blanks which I could not decipher. The signature is David Wilkinson, who became a full partner in the business in the 1850s after a brief spell with Percival Vickers in the 1840s

Is it addressed in the top left hand corner to Mr William (Wm) Staghall?

Also, had they changed their name to Molineaux rather than Molineux by 1839 then?
So it is incorrectly spelled in this directory from 1846?

Here in the Law Journal under Gazette from 1844 Friday October 4, they have the names as creditors for a bankrupt as
Thomas Molyneux, Thomas Webb, Mary Ellis, and Boulton Molineaux.
Two different spellings of the name. Or is different family branches of the family who kept or changed the spelling?

The family name was always Molineaux, everything else is a lax spelling. Ironically, the one branch of the family I am in touch with, changed the spelling to Molineux in the late 19th century because they got fed up with everyone getting their name wrong!
