Old Glass Person Help needed please Old Baluster Glass???
« on: August 07, 2018, 02:05:29 PM »
 :)
I bought a box of glasses recently and was wondering if this was genuine i got the box for a low price and found a couple of nice early victorian beaker's amongst the glassware so when i saw this glass i initially thought great but i have never held a glass of this age or what this glass is trying to be i wonder if anybody would like to pop in and make a view over the date and if it's English please.
Sorry Sharp pontil scar on a plain foot just under 7" tall and rim & foot of similar dimension's i have observed through a strong jeweler's loop that there is small seeds this is under a strong magnification and a fair amount of roughness on outside rim & foot not easy to see with naked eye.
Thank you for looking.
sadly has two tiny nibbles to underside of foot

No problem, you'll know if it's English by tapping it, if it rings then will be lead glass. The foot is called a domed foot and the trumpet shaped bowl is typical of this period (1st quarter of century)
