Funny looking cut glass ashtray

(1/3) > >>

Tigerchips:
I was hoping somebody could identify this funny looking ashtray along with it's age please. It is cut glass and flashed (i think) much like that seen on my Ruby flashed Chance glass. Does the round cutting indicate a British origin and does this dark colour indicate a modern product?

Somewhat off putting is the mould line running vertically through the centre. Well, it put me off buying it anyway.

I think it has been re-gilded on the metal as it doesn't look right.

I don't know about you but I like it.  :)

Lustrousstone:
I would guess sixties and the metal looks OK to me. I had an ashtray with similar looking metalwork. You probably should have bought it if it was cheap

Tigerchips:
Thanks, it was only fifty pence.

David E:
Seen these before TC - personally I rather like them! I know what you mean about the similarities to Chance intaglio, Christine.

50p? You can't go wrong! Can you buy it for me?  8)

Tigerchips:
I left it at the car boot but my mother picked it up despite the fact that I had seen it and left it. This just shows you what I miss.

Glass finds me, it doesn't matter what I do.  8)
