Hi all,

There is a mark pressed into the swags under the body which could be 'Oreot' or 'Areol' (or something else!).
It's quite sharply pressed and quite thick. Quality-wise could be Preciosa/Barolac etc. ??. Found it in Belgium but couldn't find any reference linking Scailmont or Espaivet, etc... The seaweed sculpting reminds me of d'Avesn, but again didn't find any link yet!

The mark is thought to read Oreor. There's been a couple of examples on the board before. Apparently 'Oreor' was a trademark of a Belgian lighting firm but it seems there's no firm consensus as to where the glass was sourced from:

Steven I am wondering if it actually reads AVESN which if it had a D' in front would be quite feasible I should think.

D'Avesn is always signed in capital letters when pressed, not cursive.

Absolutely Anne but I can't see a D' preceding so it was simply a speculative thought.  Perhaps it was for an outside company other than Lalique who he apparently worked for.  It just looked like AVESN to me when I studied it and that made me wonder - out loud.  Even Jay wondered about D'Avesn.
