Topic: St Louis handwritten worth 10p?,

I'm really embarrassed posting on here because I know this will be a very silly request . So I apologise in advance. But I love the Antiques Roadshow and as my family have completely failed me and have nothing but junk in their lofts, I have to do it myself and find items that cost 10p at a car boot and are worth £100,000. This wasn't a 'ooh, it could be worth a fortune' buy, but as I continue my (extremely tedious) decluttering, I came across this and as I've found nothing myself, I thought it worth an ask on here. Can anyone please confirm this is worth 10p and that's on a good day!

Don't be embarrassed, your request is not remotely silly. There was a time when we all knew absolutely nothing about glass too.
It can be a difficult area; many things are not signed or marked, we have learn to judge by the whole thing.
I'm sure whatever it is might be worth more than 10p, but we can't see it.
Would it be possible for you to take a pic of the whole thing against a plain background, and post that?
We like to know how the rim is finished and how the base is done. You've given us the base. 

We don't tend to discuss values, they're contentious and very variable, but once you know what something is, you can check past auctions to give you an idea.

Hello and thank you for your kindness. Hope these photos help. I'm really not that bothered about value, more interested in what it is. It's clear glass so very difficult to take photos of especially when it's so gloomy weather wise.

We're interested in finding out what things are too. That's exactly what this forum is for.

Is it a vase? A dish of some sort? Studio and art glass items don't actually have to be anything. They can be stand-alone sculptural things, but by the nature of glass-blowing, vessels of some sort are often what they are.
St Louis isn't my area, I wouldn't know if it was right or wrong, but somebody else here might well know. The extra pics will help them, thanks!
Not everybody comes along every day, have a little patience and somebody, I'm sure, will be able to help you more than I can.

Clear glass is a nightmare to photograph well. Changing the lighting angle can help.
Glass looks different whether back lit, front lit, top lit or lit from underneath. It's a three dimensional thing. Photos are flat.

I don't think I've seen measurements but it looks like an ashtray to me, just google it and you'll come across several examples. Some have this signature, some the modern acid mark in a circle. Production from the 60's and onwards I think. Prices vary and normally it's not custom to estimate pieces here, in this case I think it doesn't really matter … the prices are between 1000 and 4000 … pennies that is.
