Late Georgian glass for show
« on: February 23, 2019, 09:34:51 AM »
Hi all,in the spirit of the forum I'd like to show these port glasses I've recently found.I gladly admit that these glasses ring all my bells and not only do they contain lovely liquids!,for me they also work on a sculptural level without needing functional purpose. They are obviously made by skilled craftsmen, probably starting their learning curve from a very young age, from blowing the bowl and joining all the parts together and then onto the wheel cutting work shop.I found these in one of my normal haunts, but if you find such glass in antique shops they still seem pretty cheap for for what your getting,
