ID Please for this steuben? Green Glass Vase. ID = Loetz
« on: February 10, 2019, 11:30:27 AM »
Hi.
I bought this some years ago from a small antique/collectables shop for my wife for Christmas one year.
As we don't know who made some of our glass we own I think its about time we did.
This one is in a beautiful green with a silver overlay.
It stands only 4.75ins  12cms tall and it has a smooth base.
I suspect it may be Steuben? Glass but I will stand being corrected.
Thanks in advance.
I will put another on next week for an ID.
Joe.

First I have to point out that I have little to absolutely no knowledge when it comes to Steuben! With that in mind your vase made me think straight away of Loetz and their Metallin decor, a few examples here:
https://www.loetz.com/decors-a-z/metalllin

That page on Loetz.com also says "Metallin pieces are frequently seen with galvano-plastic (silver or copper overlay) decoration" - which would fit nicely with your vase.

Hi, John.
Many Thanks for your reply and in identifying my vase.
This is now my first piece of Loetz Glass.
And thanks for the link to the Loetz website.
Best Wishes.
Joe.
