Author Topic: Is This Murano Glass? (Read 2649 times)

I am hoping you will be able to help me identify the glass bowl pictured here.

It measures 3" high by 5 1/2" diameter across the top and weighs 1.4 pounds. A set of 8 of these were purchased new during the 1960's. There are no markings or labels. It has been suggested that it is Venetian (Murano?) glass. I would very much appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks for your post...
I actually have a similar set, only of 4, with Barbini labels.
They have gold flecks in them and have a pedestal base.
Do your bowls have a pedestal base to them?
I dont see that they have gold, but I think they are Murano.

The manufacturer is Barbini as stated by Javier.

Seeing you've had an attribution now, can I add that I think your little flower bowls are lovely

I suppose each petal was formed and attached by hand, I think it's lovely craftsmanship. Gorgeous!

One thing on attribution.
I am comparing them to mine from the style, but these could also be Salviati. I have seen many candle holders with Salviati labels that look like them too.
