Topic: Amethyst carafe, could it be from Caithness?

This carafe is a bit battered but something about it is saying Caithness to me, the colour seems right for Heather and it is surprisingly heavy so presumably a reasonable lead content. It is 22cm tall and looks like it might have been inspired by Timo Sarpaneva's I-Line. Did not spot it in Mark Hill's book, any ideas?

I'm puzzled too. This sort of style of carafe was early Caithness, and in very lightweight soda glass.
The side walls are sloped and straight, leading up to a chimney neck.
This is heavy, and the sides are curved.
Does it pour?
It does look like the correct colour. The shape and the weight, is much more like later production.
What sort of age-related wear is there?

Very little wear on the base which was a surprise, the colour is not much of a match to this Caithness cylinder vase. Maybe looking elsewhere is called for.

The cylinder does appear to be blue-er.
But my (rather dust and kitchen grease covered) Canisbay decanter can appear to match both, depending on how the light hits it or the thickness of the glass and reflections and sommerso stuff all start working together.
But I agree, I think we should be looking somehere other than Caithness.
Caithness does tend to be very consistent and this doesn't fit in.
