Is this a Czech ashtray bowl?
« on: April 26, 2019, 06:20:23 PM »
I have one more unsolved glass bowl/ashtray.
It is massive and has an orange spiral and a dark blue mass in it.
Polished base and a very nice object.
17,5 cm long, 14cm wide and 7cm high.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Regards
Jonas

This reminds me a little of a piece by Stanislav Libensky…...clear glass with blue centre and orange spiral.  Just a thought......

Every time I see a spiral around a core, I default to Beranek then I get stuck and can't think of anything else! :-[ :-[ :-[
But I'm sure Ladislaw Oliva did some interesting unique cube-y paperweights with the same sorts of features. And a ball of coloured glass pushed into in one corner.

Hello,
Thank you all for input.
It looks like a work from Stanislav Libensky for Beranek, I have not found same bowl but simular objects. I bought this bowl for a while ago together in a lot of vases and bowls from VSL, Graal glas, WMF, Biot, Bayer&co and Chribska.
An European collection I couldn’t resist..:)
Ladislaw Oliva, the glass cubes are very nice indeed.
Regards
Jonas
