Topic: Purple and Blue Murano Sommerso Glass 1963 Vase ID Maker Please

I have this Purple and Blue Murano Sommerso Glass Vase, which I have been told dates to 1963. Any ideas of the maker? It is 27.5 cm (10 3/4 in) high, 9 cm (3 1/2 in) wide and 5.5 cm (2 1/4 in ) deep. It is heavy and Weighs 1140 g (2 lb 8 oz). Any Ideas of likely maker? Or is it just a general Murano Sommerso item? Any help appreciated.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but there doesn't appear to be much wear to the bottom for a heavy piece from the 1960s.  Who suggested such a specific date of 1963?

Would you be able to post another picture of the base, with the vase angled to show the wear?

The piece in the link below looks very similar to yours, but height is 25.5cm and weight 1.517kg.  I don't know how much these pieces would vary.  It is also unlabelled, and does not give any reference for the attribution.

You haven't mentioned why the date of 1963 was indicated.  The wear is. It what I would expect to see, but it could perhaps have been in a cabinet for years.  There are a lot of murano style vases coming from China, which can make it more challenging to identify pieces.  With any luck, someone on the board will have a labelled one in their collection.

Thank you for taking the trouble to reply. I bought this from an elderly lady and believe her when she says she has had it since 1963 - it such a specific date to say. The base is only slightly scratched, but looks aged, and has probably been kept in a cabinet with only occasional disturbance over the years. It is undoubtedly me, but I can't see a link in the reply below from Catshome. Thanks again for replies.
