Bimini Glass and the Politics of Survival by Angela Bowey

(1/1)

Anne:
I really enjoyed this, it's a fascinating story of refugees fleeing from persecution under the Nazis and coming to England, having left their glass business behind, and starting again in wartime London but suffering the indignity of internment, and then the success of their new business after release. It's one of those untold stories that should be made into a film! The book also contains a wealth of photos of Bimini and Orplid glass items, and of the people themselves. All in all it's a welcome addition to the bookshelf of any glass collector or dealer. Highly recommended.

Angela B:
