Hi again, thanks for looking! The glass part sits on a hollow aluminium base that contains the light bulb, I should have shown this. The second photo above is a side view of the glass part, the bit on the underside that looks like a fat inverted ‘T’ sits inside the aluminium base and two clamps hold it in place via the slots. The glass part that is on show is almost a cube but is slightly too short. The glass is solid, not at all hollow, and sits above the bulb rather than surrounding it.
The first photograph actually showed it lit but it doesn’t show well, I probably need to do something clever with the camera exposure setting, I’ve had another go. The aluminium gets quite hot, even though it’s only 12 volt so I might see if I can convert it to use LEDs.
I like the Poliarte lamps! Not seen them before, some look inspired by Jenga? The Iviken ones remind me of those glass bricks you see in walls.
