Mdina zigzag
chopin-liszt:
It is cobalt. ;D
The body contains amber swirls which make it appear more purple. The zigzags are cobalt in clear and they're beautifully chunky and rounded, not flattened.
(Cobalt on its own is incredibly dense, no light gets through it, whatsoever.)
This zig-zag is 12cm in height and 12cm in diameter.
It's kind of cauldron shaped, with a lovely rounded belly.
There are even sharp little bits of frit inside - they're there to add the special Harris magic to the spells I'm going to be mixing in it.
I still can't get photos from the camera into this nasty new pc. :'(
mdina glass:
Did you buy it Sue,
you have awaited long enough for one so hope you did.
congrats if you have bought it.
chopin-liszt:
Terri and I got in touch with each other very early on in this thread; I am the current custodian of this wonderful beastie, yes. ;D 8) ;D
mdina glass:
Congrats im so glad for you and I know how you feel the same as I did when I got mine after 9 years of searching for one.
chopin-liszt:
18 years I've been waiting, if not longer. ;D
I found a black and white drawing of one illustrated in an early Miller's guide. When nearly everything printed in them was just black and white illustrations.
And an illustration of a triangular one on a cardboard label I'd found.
