Seguso Horse?
« on: January 29, 2020, 04:36:42 PM »
My First Post here, I recently found a Black & White Glass Horse.
It has been suggested to me that it could be by Seguso and it has also been suggested it isn't.
Things get more interesting/complicated when you read the label which is assumed to be the original.
The Label has the word "VETRERIA" vertically to the left. To the right of the "MADE IN ITALY" are the words "LEARTI DI MURANO" above these words is a Logo which I understand to be a company called "AV MAZZEGA"
Does anyone here have any suggestions or knowledge to help with this identification?
Link below for pictures.
Thank you for any help you guys can be.

Hello Harold123, Welcome to the Glass Message Board. :)
Please can you add these as pictures,  I'm afraid photobucket is not always supported these days and pictures can vanish so that they can't be used for future reference. :)

Hi Harold and welcome. The label is not in the file Murano 101 at the top of the threads page. There are a couple of Mazzega labels but neither are yours. Could you add this label to the file?
I can understand why you would think it was Seguso but the label says it's not.
Very well made, although I am not an animal collector, there are several here who are and they might be able to help ID this one.
Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.
Archimede tops my list.

I wondered if the pony was Seguso made and sold by Mazzega hence the label or it was just a copy of the technique.
I will gladly post the label. I will take a much better photo of the label first though.
