pendant lamp with 444 pieces of glass from Poliarte in Verona
(1/1)
jonspencer:
I bought this pendant lamp in Palermo this past summer
just recently I found time to clean and wire it up to see how it looks illuminated, really like how it looks ;D
after much research I finally learned the lamp was designed / made by Poliarte in Verona around 1970, this group made their designs in very limited production runs
ardy:
This is gorgeous and I have never heard of the maker. Would love to have this in my home. Sensational design.
As I have said before you have excellent taste.
BlueOctopus:
Wow what a beauty

I think there is a sort of "cult following" of these quirky Poliarte designs
they were established in 1968 by Albano Poli
recently I purchased a huge chandelier that is almost certainly from Poliarte and is 25kg+ of hammered Murano glass and brass
I posted photos of it on my Instagram but not here yet
Ardy, your advice about buying all pendants is "spot on", you get much more glass for the money as opposed to buying vases etc and it is probably easier to identify these pieces for a newbie like me ;D
ardy:
Yes, Jon buying what is out of fashion atm but wonderful craftsmanship is always a wise move. Just having them must bring you great pride and joy. I know my glass does me.
You need a high-end marketplace where they have houses that suit the quality and design of these pieces. Great taste again...
