Hi Nick - don't think it's the quality of your pix, or lack thereof, that's hindering an id - more likely it's that so far your glass remains simply unknown.
With respect, might suggest that subject headings in caps. is unnecessary, and remember you can always add extra pix to your original post - instead of starting a completely new thread. No doubt the Mods. can combine your two separate posts.
No idea unfortunately, as to the origin or provenance of your wine glass - gilding - which means the application of gold to a surface (so no need to write 'gold gilding') - isn't a commonplace form of decoration on wine glasses - or at least it hasn't been for a long time generally.
I think possibly some French and Scandi producers may have continued it into the C20, but if you look at most similar pieces over the past one hundred years it seems to be very uncommon on the pieces we see here. The geometric patterning on your gold rim has a machine applied appearance - almost a 'machine acid etch look' - could be wrong but it doesn't appear as a simple band - does that sound about right? Might be applied as a transfer possibly.
Is the underside of the foot simply flat and polished?
Quality in wine glasses comes in different forms, one of which is usually that the item will be made of lead glass - gives that long ring when flicked - have you flicked this one? It won't help with id, but an indication of height is always of interest.
Are you able to tell us where you acquired this glass and if it came with any sort of description. thanks.
