Is this Italian???

Picked this up because I liked it and it seems to be a well made piece. It may be newer but it does have age wear on the bottom. It's ruby red and the stopper is white with gold and is cased in crystal. The stopper is ground to fit the neck of the bottle. Together it stands about 6 1/4" high and it has a pontil. Possibly a perfume bottle?
