Topic: Scandinavian,Italian ? odd colour vase.

Would be interested to here some thoughts on the country of origin and manufacturer of this vase.
In my mind I had it down for a Simon Gate design for Sandvik (Sweden).
After a suggestion by John(glassobsessed), there might be an Italian connection. Soffiato style.
The vase is 235mm tall and weigh's 360 grams.
The colour seems to be brown with a hint of amethyst?

And, to add to confusion / show another piece from quite possibly a completely different source of the same colour, a bucket, cut with dragonflies. Very nicely done, but the insects are produced using assembled patterns of cuts to make each one - which allows for some variation, but it is not "original art". It would have been "mass" produced.
The truest colour is in the first pic.
The second pic makes it look far too purple, the shadow caught it.
And the base turned up another colour - the sun caught it.

It's the same colour as was in your pic of the fine piece on the shelf, Tim!

I am less comfortable with that Italian Soffiato suggestion now, the foot being solid and not hollow. Not sure quite how to describe it but it is really accentuated on this purple piece.

Thanks John, I have been looking at Sandvik images on the net quite a lot. its only in the last couple of years I have been able to spot some of this glass and buy it .
A while back I posted two items of glass, just for show on the Scandinavian section.
The bowl/dish looks so Italian  but is a recorded Sandvik item. now it makes me think Sandvik might have been influenced by that type of glass you mentioned earlier.
In the Swedish glass factories book there is a near identical vase but with a slightly different knop. I dare not reproduce that image on this site.
I hope someone comes up with a positive ID.
