;D John  -  I'm always being reprimanded for such acts  -  I sit listening to the news and telling my wife how the adverbs (..lly) should come at the end of the sentence  -  it's a wonder I wasn't divorced years ago.             But of course, your knowledge of glass is far greater than mine.

Freud ??  well, he was always for the Jung, so that might cut you and I out  ;)

glad you forgive me though. :)

Your "rant" makes some extremely good points John.
I for one, really appreciate it. :-*

I do suspect I have been taken in by the old marketting romanticism of "rare" signatures - probably encouraged by my personal lack of being impressed by them.
And there do seem to be an awful lot of real ones around.
Evidence beats rumours. ;D
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

As is often the case in these situations blanket statements don't hold up under scrutiny, there is nearly always a more granular picture ready to emerge. A Michael Harris signature is rightly considered something of a rarity on items made at Mdina but it seems that it is a little less so at IoWSG, even then it can still be hard to find a given item with a signature. I noticed when collecting that finding Aurene items signed seemed more unusual than say Blue and White Swirls or Seaward, not that we are comparing like for like when it comes to numbers made, Aurene ran for years compared to the other two designs.

While looking on GMB for info about a MH signature i came across this older post which after reading some replies i realise i need to post some photos of the signatures of the Firecracker and Golden Rain pieces. Also in my earlier post i said the Seascape wasn't signed but upon receiving it have found a signature around the top rim.
The owner of these pieces plus a large signed Landscape barrel vase was a dealer(owner of Bachendorf's in Texas and a Dachau survivor) and bought items from IOW's permanent stand at the Frankfurt Fair. This info was kindly supplied by Ron Wheeler of Artius Glass.
These pieces must have been special to the dealer as i was told they were always displayed in his office and not for sale.Unfortunately he passed away in 2010.
I will post photos of the original pieces i asked about but if anyone would like to see the others, i can.
Photo 1. Large 14cm tall bell vase/bowl.
Photo 2.Small bowl.
Photo 3.3 small bowls.
Photo 4 Coffin vase.
