Topic: Mystery Brand Cod Neck Bottle - Any ideas appreciated!

Hi All,

Matt from New Zealand here...

I'm trying to figure out what language or brand is embossed on this cod neck bottle! I've taken a pencil rubbing and compared it to the Cyrillic alphabet (my first thought) but it doesn't match up very well 

So if anyone has any info or clues that could help identify what this bottle contained or what country it was made for it would be very much appreciated :-)

Under the first line of text is a bird symbol which doesn't come out very well in the rubbing.

Does it read any better in a mirror? I'm just wondering if it was supposed to be read from the other side.

I have a few of these cod bottles and I read that these where produced all over the world and are still produced in Japan. But this looks more indish Hindi for me.
