No, he was a glassmaker who trained with the Ysarts. His work can be a little bit different to that of the Ysarts themselves, as John Deacons' was.
I have got the surname wrong and have accidentally substituted the comedian's one onto the forename Chic. ;D
I meant Chic Young.
