French or Harrach? Opaline Jug.
« on: July 30, 2020, 02:30:18 PM »
I bought this from a car boot and the seller had had it appraised as French c.1890. It looks more like a piece of Harrach to me but I'm probably wrong. I've seen pieces attributed to Harrach with variously similar main decoration, "scumble" finish on the handle, same spout and exactly the same continental "7" mark. Of course these may all be wrong. It looks like the spout is only a design feature but it pours very well. Thoughts welcome  :).

Reminds me very much of these, which Christine thought were Bohemian. :)

Thanks Sue(M), I'm pretty sure those are by Harrach too, they used the brown colour around the foot a lot and as they closely resemble my one I'd say it's by the same maker  ;D.

Definitely Bohemian. That yellow enamel under the gilding is a giveaway
