Ankerglas Bernsdorf "Halle" Uranium Green Vases.
« on: August 13, 2020, 06:05:34 PM »
I bought these today and have found them on P.45 of the 1937/38 Ankerglas Bernsdorf catalogue on glas-musterbuch.de. They are the No. 412 Halle pattern shown in three sizes, these are the 25cm. ones. They are really quite impressive, especially under UV, so the 30cm. ones must be even more so. Also pictured is a part set Renate pattern to compare the colour.

 :) Very nice.
:-[ I always want to see an ice cream-sundae in something that shape, and the rim is exceptionally wide - you could pile loads and loads of lovely bits on top!

Sue, you must stop fantasising about filling vases with ice cream, it's not good for you, hang on though  :P. I've just noticed the mould lines on the rim, unusually it appears to have been made in a three part one.

;D I've been making my own - using an old rationing period recipe which is low fat and high protein. Perfecting the recipe because of the fruit we have from the garden, has meant I'm currently obsessed with it.   :-[

Sounds fabby, especially with the syrup. ;D
Ours is tayberry, made with "boiled in the tin" evaporated milk. It turns into a dulce du leche thing with the caramelised milk proteins.
Boiling a whole tin of evaporated milk turns it into something that can be whipped up thick, like cream. But it gives it that extra and delicious flavour too. Recipe in my trusty 1953 Good Housekeeping book.
