I would have replied sooner but couldn't remember the name and when I did couldn't find the photo of the label, it was filed in the wrong folder. Happens far too often!

The name looks to be from the 50s and they may have changed it at some point.

Does seem like it must be Murano looking at the similar bowls linked to, thanks again for the suggestions :)

My UV torch arrived in the post, have had lots of fun with pointing it at various things... as far as the bowl goes it has proven that it's uranium glass anyway; see attached photos (sorry about poor quality, was taking the photo in one hand while pointing a torch in the other, with dubious results.)

It often glows to such an extent that pics all go fuzzy with that alone.
