Seguso Penguin

(1/4) > >>

NevB:
After some research I think this penguin can be attributed to Archimede Seguso factory and probably Flavio Poli. It is 16cm. tall and from the way it's been made it varies in colour depending on which way you are looking at it.

NevB:
And the bottom, it has quite a bit of wear round the contact point on the rim, I think it dates from the 1960's/70's.

NevB:
I've just searched the "Murano Zoo" but sadly no reference to my penguin, but there are some pieces with the layered glass.

ardy:
Nev, could be but I am no collector of A.S. animals and TX Silver who specialises in them and runs the Murano Zoo has not been around lately.
I have a perfume bottle with similar blending but different colours. My only concern was the base.

NevB:
Hello ardy, the layering of the glass seems to be a Seguso design feature. The base is quite distinctive and I have seen the same one on pieces attributed to Seguso, one of them with a label, I'll try and link some photos if they aren't copywrited.
