Studio Art Glass ID help 3
« on: January 06, 2021, 06:07:46 PM »

Hi I'm new to this forum. I have a few pieces of studio art glass that have gone un-identified in my collection. All bought in thrift stores in western Canada. Up until this point I have presumed local studio art glass of little significance, any insight would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome. :)
We have loads of techie help and info here;
https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/board,22.0.html
for posting images directly to the board, and plenty more on how to use us to your best advantage.
Many of us will not click on external links, and images hosted elsewhere often disappear, leaving us with a discussion thread that is not illustrated, which is no use as a reference source.

If you are able to edit the title, a brief description of colours or style helps. Numbering pictures is something everybody tries - there are too many for them to be useful in a search.
Don't worry - you're new, and we'll do what we can to help. Studio glass is what interests me. :)
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Thanks for the reply.
I will make the changes when I get home tonight and can access my computer. The other glass collecting forum I belong to was the opposite, no way to upload images so I already had the links ready. Came across you guys while researching some Czech art glass apples and found you all very helpful. Most of the people over at the other forum live and breath depression glass which was never my thing. Might end up making this my new home lol.

Czech art glass apples? Now you've got me interested.  ;D
Were they Karl Weidmann's glorious colourful bubbly beasts?

No, they where identical to ones I found with the sticker for Jaffe Rose Glassworks. From what I understand Jaffe Rose just did the importing and they where actually made by Harrachov Glassworks of Czechoslovakia. This is the loose conclusion that I've come to so far anyways.

Jaffe Rose confused a lot of us, for a while.  :)
