Libochovice 1595 Vase.
« on: January 15, 2021, 11:14:52 AM »
This is a Libochovice 1595 uranium glass vase shown in their pre 1958 catalogue but probably 1930's. Catalogue height is given as 255mm., this one is 245mm. It has TCHÉCO-SLOVAQUIE impressed on the base showing it was probably meant for the French market.

This looks really impressive. How were you able to require it? I've been looking for these or similar ones for years and hadn't been able to find them. How do you rate the shape it is in?

Hello Margaret, I'm pleased you like it. This came from ebay, I've been buying more from there recently due to the present situation. Normally I also buy locally from Antiques dealers, charity shops and car boot sales. It's amazing how cheaply pieces can still be bought. This one is in very good condition, just a few tiny chips around the base.
