Topic: Curious moulded tub with cover

Pressed lead glass. My guess probably european c. 1850. Possibly earlier.
Combined height is 12.5 cm
 Diameter is 12 cm at flange

The curious part being a centered rounded protrusion in the inside bottom of the bowl and the same thing on the inside of the lid.
For lack of a better word a " nipple" as part of the mould.
I have never seen such a thing. Thinking might be a clue as to maker or process, possibly patented,etc.
Anybody else come across this?

I would call it a butter tub. That is the term used here in U.S.A. The rounded protrusions on the inside are something that is new to me. I have seen/ handled a lot of early pressed glass. I would suppose The purpose may be a centering mechanism for the plunger. last picture shows the outside bottom where the pattern on the bottom has been altered in direct relation to the nipple on the inside.  Curious,curious.
