Powell/Whitefriars? Uranium Finger Bowl?
« on: May 14, 2021, 01:01:54 PM »
I'm not sure about this rather ordinary looking bowl. To me it has the look of pre-war Powell/Whitefriars but I can't find it in the catalogues. It is a mint green colour in uranium glass which I thought might be their "emerald green" colour. It has a ground pontil and lots of colourant seeds and wear on the bottom. Diameter 4 1/2".

It's not Whitefriars (their uranium use went little beyond straw opal). I also suspect it's a sugar bowl rather than a finger bowl; if it's anything mine, it's quite crude and I think I've seen them with a jug http://lustrousstone.co.uk/cpg/displayimage.php?pid=1213

Thanks Christine, the workmanship is actually pretty good but the glass is full of seeds, bubbles and inclusions. I've had another search for something similar but no luck.
