wish you luck then  ;D            glass with a high lead content - from almost any period, and especially with a hollow body shape - will ring when flicked.   Don't know the origin of your one, but sellers often make mistakes or overlook something that may have genuine age.        The red on these pieces may convince people that it's modern and lacks age - perhaps most people think of old glass as being entirely clear.               Hopefully yours will have some real age.

well, yes, there are variations even within pieces with some lead content.           The one I like best is the ring from W/Fs bowls  -  it reverberates. :)
