Need help identifying cordial/wine glass
« on: October 31, 2021, 02:24:44 PM »
My wife and I had an amaro in Florence Italy in one of these glasses (second from left) and would really like to identify/acquire some.  We've talked to the bar to try to identify them but they say they don't have any identifying marks.  We're back in Italy February and will go to the bar to inspect them then and even try to see if they will sell us 4 glasses.  In the interim, we're searching to see if we can identify them.  Any help appreciated.

Mod: Image resized and added for OP.

You could try searching using the name Bormioli, a long shot but they are a large Italian glass maker.

Appreciate the suggestion but we started with Bormioli over the last 4 weeks while we were at our house in Italy.  We've also searched the web extensively and looked at all the obvious sources.  We're hoping someone here might recognize them.  We're back in the US and not back to Italy until February when we have a chance to go to the bar/restaurant in Florence to inspect them more closely.

Hello and welcome to the board. We really need much larger images please, yours are way too small to see the detail of the design. Please make them around 700 pixels along the longer edge and add them as a reply below, thanks.

Thanks - I had to resize it as the original was too big - with a limit of 125kb per image I had to crop it to one of the glasses.

That's the best I can do with a limit of 125kb per pic.

Here's a link to it on Google Photos

hello - expect you'll think we're all being very picky ;D with our comments, but for rather obvious reasons clear glass is the most difficult to represent on the screen with an image that shows detail of pattern or design clearly.     Assume you're using a mobile to snap these glasses - in fact size wise I can mostly get away with showing 900 x 675 (using a camera) - though I notice your latest picture appears to be 160  x  348 only - do tell me if I have that wrong.                    This size plus the busy background makes it less easy to see detail, and it's even more important with clear glass that a plain darkish background is used.

It may or may not help with identification but will you please also confirm that part of the decoration is cut, rather than being simply a pressed design.

Again, apologies if we seem rather obsessed with quality of pix, it's just that we stand of fall - in terms of id - based solely on the detail showing in anyone's pix, and in view of the negative results so far, it does appear that you may have to wait until February when you'll be able to speak to the owner.     best of luck. :)

Thank you for trying again but we need bigger images to help. The board automatically makes small clickable thumbnails that display in the post, which when clicked open the larger image. This can be achieved and still stay below our file size limit of 125kb per image, so I have copied your image from your Google Photos and added it to your original post for you.

To help you understand how to resize images we have techie tips in our help forum, so please do have a read of them. This one includes an online resizing tool that may work for you. http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,34093.0.html

If when you've done that you still can't resize images (and I am aware that some folks using certain mobile devices are unable to do so) then please feel free to send copies to me by email and I'll add them to your topics for you. support @ glassmessages.com will reach me (close up the spaces of course!)
