Topic: Davidson "Helen Louise" Creamer/Sugar.

Apparently this creamer and sugar are the only pieces in this pattern which hasn't got a known pattern or RD number but was named by an American collector as "Helen Louise". I think they probably date from 1895-1900.

Once upon a time I would have agreed however I believe a sugar bowl exists on a pedestal stem. It’s in Australia.
perhaps a “keencolletor” can help?

Yes that’s an informative post. I wonder why both the unmarked  “Helen Louise” and the  unmarked “quilted pillow sham” sets only comprise of 2 to 3 (known) pieces, when the registered design sets have a lot more pieces. My father collects primrose pearline and the Lady Chippendale range of items is huge, there maybe upto 45-50 different pieces.?? He also has collections in clear and blue pearline and there’s bits in those colours which he hasn’t got in yellow.

Is there any confirmation that the Helen Louise set is Davidson?( it’s unmarked) Here is a curveball, could it be Greener ? Here is an old post of mine,  we have all pieces from all these ranges referenced by Mr Vaseline glass but Heathcocks attribution to the unmarked set as Helen Louise being Davidson could be wrong?  Just saying purely for debate..

It could just as well be Greener, I've got several pieces of Davidson Primrose Pearline and the Helen Louise colour seems different somehow, more yellow. This debate could carry on for a while.

Anne, most of mine are numbered/known Davidson patterns and don't have the rays apart from the dish below which I suspected might be Greener. I've also got a  creamer and sugar in "quilted pillow sham" pattern which as Mike mentioned might not be Davidson.

Hi Nev,
The “Quilted Pillow Sham” is definitely Davidson as it’s called Pattern 900 and featured I think in a pottery gazette publication it’s the “Helen Louise” pieces I’m unsure about, hopefully my dad will take a picture of the bases of the jug, bowl and round dish, hopefully they will be all similar.cheers Mike
