Murano and age?

(1/1)

uphoosier:
I'm not sure this is Murano - perhaps North American.  The pontil mark is completely untouched. Not too new as there is significant wear and scratching on the bottom rim.  It is 7" tall.  All opinions and comments are appreciated.

Laura Friedman:
Not Murano glass, I'm afraid. These are contemporary, and made in Mexico. Here in Los Angeles, they are sold by the hundreds at the flea markets.

Will move to Main Glass section.

Yes;  I agree.

These vases are new and close-out type stores like TJ-Maxx, Marshall's etc. are loaded with them.

Also;  wear on the bottoms is not always a sign of age, new glass can scratch very easily in a year or so, depending on how it is used and on what surface it has been setting and moved around on. Many more than one would think are purposely rubbing glass items with or on some rough surface to make them look aged. It's always best to know the glass first and then consider those other details afterwards. --- Mike
