Maker unclear on this Stourbridge uranium salt pot
« on: June 02, 2022, 06:03:09 PM »
I was able to view this piece recently but foolishly did not take a record of the lozenge and now I can't read it. I think it could be a Thomas Webb reg from 1870 or possibly an earlier one from Hodgetts, Richardson, Pargeter. It is difficult to tell as these registrations appear to be based on the prunt (legs) - and they look pretty similar on the various registrations.

Dimensions are H 2.5in and W 3in

I don't think this has come up on the board before, can anyone id it for sure?

The design registers are online if you can read the sequence. It does mean trawling through that years list for glass but can be worth the effort (or not) to help identify maker.

I'm reading the day as 17 and the parcel no. as 3, which cuts the options down. Ruling out the other options this possibly might be the no. 390103 registered by Thomas Webb on 17/11/1882, on the other hand it might not be.  :)

Thanks Nev, I think you are right. Another collector got in touch today and he has this item in ruby, with a reg diamond for 17 Nov 1882
