Whitefriars 'Cirrus' vase?
« on: August 07, 2022, 11:11:11 PM »
This vase seems to be Whitefriars 'Cirrus' pattern 9889 in the Aqua & Gold colourway. Is that correct? It's in the 1980 catalogue (https://whitefriars-glass.com/whitefriars-cat-1980.php). This site https://whitefriarsglass.wixsite.com/patterns/9852-9867 says it was designed by Colin Bywater.

Looking through GMB there is little said about this design and I can't find a picture anywhere of this particular colourway. Does that mean its scarce?

Thanks for feedback.

Anton

Looks good Anton - judging from your photo and links. I have never seen one of these in the flesh, guessing they are pretty rare, in comparison I have bought and sold several of the New Studio Range vases shown on the previous two pages and they can be hard to get hold of.

Very nice find you have there, can we have a photo of the base please.

John

Thanks John. The base is unmarked, with the pontil mark ground out, slightly concave.

Just had a message from Colin Bywater. He says the identification and info are correct.  :D
