Questions on Orrefors vase(?) EH 4770/80
« on: October 22, 2022, 11:21:21 PM »
I found this Orrefors vase at an estate sale.  The bottom is signed Orrefors EH 4770 80.  I'd think this was an Edward Hald but I know he died in 1980.  Other sources I've seen said he worked at Orrefors until 1978 - is it possible he was still working as late as 1980?  Also I can't find this particular piece anywhere, it has been suggested to me it may be a cut down decanter.  Has anyone seen a vase like this?

It is a Hald design orignally from the late 30's early 40's and it was a decanter so has ben cut down.

Hi, I think Orrefors, like many glass companies, continued to produce glass designed by deceased artists after their death so it is not incompatible for the decanter to have been designed by Hald but produced in 1980.
