If it's from New Zealand then it's far from home

I found it in an antiques centre in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, hiding at the very back of a cabinet.
Might the vase blank be a clue? I attach a picture of the base. Perhaps someone recognises who made the blank vase. Maybe Stuart Crystal or similar. It has an 8-pointed star and notches cut out round the edge of the bottom of the base. The notching around the rim seems somewhat inconguous too and may be original with the blank. The glass is heavy lead crystal. It rings nicely when flicked with a finger.
