Victorian cider tankard
« on: November 12, 2022, 07:50:57 AM »
Hi
I have recently acquired this tankard. There is  polished pontil. Does anybody have any ideas as to origin, manufacturer or date, please?

Hopefully, Mark

Hi, the engraving looks nice and good quality, the fruit is very three dimensional - it looks like they have selectively polished some areas to add highlights.

Have you ruled out a more modern origin such as from Dartington? They made/make similar looking tankards and did some nice engraving.
