« on: January 15, 2023, 07:17:40 AM »
Hello to all. I am in possession of this massive glass cup weighing over three kilos. I thought it was Holmegaard but not at all. Would it be Murano, Flygsfors or others

I doubt Holmegaard. Holmegaard usualy singn their peaces, but what makes me doubtfull as well is the color. This is a very unusual color for Holmegaard. I would think into Czecheslowakia direction.

It appears to be Alexandrite/Neodymium glass, does it change colour under different light sources? A quick search online shows it could be Murano, Czech or maybe even Sevres.

To check for neodymium glass you will need a fluorescent light source - either the old fashioned strip or tube lights or one of the early 'low energy' light bulbs that have now been superseded by led bulbs.

It's definitely not Holmegaard or Flygsfors - I doubt Scandinavian.
