Oakmere - links with Pirelli and Vasart?

Probably one for Frank, but I found mention in a 1961 issue of Pottery Gazette and Glass Trade Review of Oakmere, Pirelli and Vasart. The three companies were all mentioned in a single advert, in conncetion with the Blackpool exhibition of that year. All three were mentioned, seemingly linked together.

Not heard of Oakmere before: any lowdown?
